As we come to the close of another year, we all want to wish you the very best Christmas with family, friends and your local church. We celebrate the birth of Jesus and all that means to us and God’s plan for mankind.
Christmas isn’t the happiest event for everyone on this planet though. With broken relationships and families, holidays can be painful and not the easiest of times. Let’s look out for people like this during the holidays, it’s an excellent opportunity to share the love of Christ.
One of the beauties of the church today is that we are the Body of Christ. That means we are all over the earth and can touch, influence and impact so many people, every single day of the year. It was part of God’s plan, Christ in us, so that He could bring Heaven to every earthly situation.
So, as much as people’s answers must be found in God, God will work through us to help people. Maybe the greatest gifts we can give this year have nothing to do with money or beautiful wrapping, but are gifts of time, caring, help and love.
Many years ago living in Germany, when money was tighter, someone from the US bought us a washer for Christmas. Have you ever thought about doing something like that for a single mom, missionary or a family? That washer was a gift that kept on giving. It wasn’t just used by us but many others over the years and every time I saw it, I remembered the gift.
God bless your family this Christmas season as we remember the greatest gift we can give is the love of God that is shed abroad in our hearts.
